Commercial Airports
The nearest commercial airport to Fort McCoy is La Crosse Municipal Airport, located 35 miles west of the installation in La Crosse, Wis. Government transportation to and from the installation is available only for those traveling on official business/orders. Shuttle service is provided Thursday through Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday arrangements can be made upon arrival by using the courtesy phone located near baggage claim. Rental cars are available at the airport.
Other commercial airports in the region include: Eau Claire, Wis., 90 miles; Madison, Wis., or Rochester, Minn., 110 miles; Minneapolis/ St. Paul, 180 miles; Milwaukee, 185 miles; and Chicago's O'Hare, 240 miles. The Fort McCoy Transportation Motor Pool does not provide transportation to or from these airports.
Driving From Madison / Tomah
Take Interstate 94 to Tomah.
Take Exit 143, Hwy 21.
Take a left at the stop sign off the exit.
Go straight through 2 sets of stop lights.
Continue straight on Hwy 21 to Fort McCoy.
Driving From Eau Claire
Take Interstate 94 to Tomah (exit 143 Tomah/Warrens).
Take a right off the exit.
Go to the first set of stop lights, turn right on Hwy 21.
Continue straight on Hwy 21 to Fort McCoy.
Driving From La Crosse / Sparta
Take Interstate 90 East to Sparta.
Take the first Sparta Exit (Hwy 27, exit #25).
Take a left at the stop sign off the exit.
Continue on Hwy 27 to the third set of stop lights.
Turn right on Montgomery St.
Turn left on Hwy 21 East, and continue to Fort McCoy.
