"The Military's Best Housing"
This is the initial reaction of families after they are welcomed at the Fort McCoy Family Housing office. When they learn Fort McCoy is not only a beautiful, scenic community to live and work in, but also offers state of the art facilities, housing and services for training, fitness and entertainment they are very pleasantly surprised.
Of the Family homes, the majority were constructed in 1992. There are both enlisted and officer homes with a community center, maintenance center, tot lots, basketball courts, RV lot, ball diamond, and a hike-bike trail. The well designed 3 and 4 bedroom homes have full basements, garages and beautiful landscaping.
A full time contractor provides 24 hour maintenance and repair services for residents. This development is only 15 minutes from Fort McCoy and is located adjacent to schools, churches and shopping.
Another housing area with 55 homes is only 10 minutes from Fort McCoy. Twelve of the units are 3 and 4 bedroom homes completed in 1998. Twelve more 3 and 4 bedroom homes were completed in 2008. An additional 23 homes were constructed in 2011. These homes are ranch style with large full basements, 2 car garages and complimenting landscaping. A project, constructing eight more 4 bedroom homes will be finished in 2012. A community center, recreational vehicle lot, community park and playground, tennis and basketball courts and skateboard park are also available for all housing residents. The neighboring city offers shopping, schools, churches, bike trails and entertainment. Visit https://www.housing.army.mil/ah to see more photos and floor plans.
Community Housing
Families and individuals desiring to rent a home will find the services of Family Housing very helpful.
Our Housing Services representative actively coordinates with landlords and Realtors to insure listings of apartments, town houses and homes to either rent or purchase are available. The Housing Services Office (HSO) is your contact for any questions or problems about off-post housing. The HSO will provide you a list of rentals with corresponding locator maps and give you information regarding the communities in which the rentals are located. All renters should carry renters insurance against fire, theft, liability, and other damages. The property owner's insurance will cover the property but not the renter's personal property.
DoD Automated Housing Referral Network (AHRN)

- Receive one-on-one real estate counseling and assistance from the AHRN partner, Military Moving Station on how to buy and sell smart.
