15 Families participate in Christmas Card workshops

Fifteen Families in the Fort McCoy Community designed their own Christmas cards for Family and friends during November workshops sponsored by Army Community Service (ACS).

ACS provided all the materials to include rubber stamps, card stock, markers, stickers, and many more accessories for this fun-filled Family time.

Each Family also spent time sharing the things they are thankful for and some of their favorite holiday traditions with other Families attending the workshops.

Focusing on these things helps to increase the strength of the Family, which will in turn help them get though any tough times.

According to ACS staff members, many attendees expressed their thanks for Family, friends, health, God, freedom, being able to spend time together, dogs, and bunnies. One Family mentioned that coming to make Christmas cards at Fort McCoy has now become a Family tradition they all enjoy, and all Families attending the workshops mentioned the great time they had at the event.

ACS provides a variety of workshops for Families in the Fort McCoy Community throughout the year aimed at increasing Family resilience. Eligible Fort McCoy community members include active-duty, Reserve, National Guard, retirees, Department of Defense civilians, nonappropriated fund employees, contract employees, registered volunteers, and their Family members.

Future events include a 2013 Family Calendar Workshop Jan. 12 and Family Valentine‘s Day Card Workshops Jan. 26 or Feb. 2. To register or for more information, contact ACS at 608-388-3505.
