STATE PATROL CADETS BUILD SKILLS
IN DEFENSE, ARREST TACTICS

Repeated drills and constant reminders to keep their eye on target were just a couple of actions the instructors at the Wisconsin State Patrol Academy put 40 cadets through during their eighth week of training at Fort McCoy in mid-November. (Link)

FORT McCOY CENTRAL ISSUE FACILITY
SUPPORTS COLD-WEATHER TRAINING

As more than 300 students train through the Cold-Weather Operations Course during the winter of 2017-18, one of the first stops for many students who are Army Reserve Soldiers will be the Fort McCoy Central Issue Facility to get their cold-weather gear. (Link)

FORT McCOY EARNS ENERGY CREDITS,
USES SOLAR THROUGHOUT POST

Fort McCoy received energy credits of more than $4,000 in September and $3,600 in October as part of a program to purchase solar-generated energy, said Fort McCoy Energy Manager Michael Kelley with the Directorate of Public Works. (Link)

WHITETAIL RIDGE SKI AREA
PREPARES FOR UPCOMING SEASON

As the temperatures drop, Whitetail Ridge Ski Area staff members are preparing for the upcoming 2017-18 season. (Link)

Maintenance personnel for Whitetail Ridge Ski Area work on a tow line Nov. 29 at Fort McCoy. The facility has a tenTative opening of the week of Dec. 18, weather permitting.


HUNDREDS FIND SUCCESS AT McCOY
DURING 2017 GUN-DEER SEASON

There were 1,336 hunters who took to the woods at Fort McCoy Nov. 18-26, harvesting more than 400 deer during the post's 2017 nine-day gun-deer season. (Link)
