Fire Away!

Soldiers from the 646th Regional Support Group, an Army Reserve unit headquartered in Madison, Wis., complete heavy weapons marksmanship training Sept. 12 at Range 2 on Fort McCoy's North Post.

Range 2 is one of several ranges on the installation with pop-up targets that can support live-fire operations for heavy weapons.

Soldiers from the Staff Sgt. Todd R. Cornell Noncommissioned Officer Academy (NCOA) march in formation near the academy in Fort McCoy's cantonment area.

The NCOA, one of 33 Armywide, provides instruction to Soldiers in the Warrior Leader Course, Battle Staff NCO Course, Small Group Instructor Course and Army Basic Instructor Course.

Dining facility construction

Construction is in progress for the new dining facility for the Staff Sgt. Todd R. Cornell Noncommissioned Officer Academy. The academy complex is located in the Fort McCoy cantonment area. Wilson Brigadier Joint Venture of St. Louis, Mo., is the contractor for the $5.9 million facility.

Firefighters from the Fort McCoy Fire Department work with a crane operator from the Directorate of Public Works to estimate the weight of an object, center the cables and use proper hand signals during a building collapse technical rescue training class Sept. 12 at the Combined Arms Collective Training Facility on Fort McCoy's South Post. Fort McCoy firefighters have participated in several different types of technical rescue training throughout the summer.

Roadkill 5K

Participants in the Roadkill 5K Run take off from the starting line Sept. 17. The run was coordinated by Rumpel Fitness Center of the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation.
