Phyllis Reed, a motivational speaker from Beloit, Wis., addresses the U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion of Milwaukee about the dangers of drunken driving, drugs and alcohol as part of the battalion's training on the Army's Alcohol and Substance Abuse Program (ASAP). The battalion gathered on post April 24 as part of their annual training conference, which is designed to provide recruiters with mandatory Army training, such as ASAP, as well as training specific to the recruiting mission. Annual awards also were presented at the conference.

Sisters in Arms

Female military and civilian personnel participate in a Sisters in Arms 1980s-themed aerobathon at Fort McCoy April 24. Attendees participated in a two-hour exercise program in a high-energy setting with music from the 1980s. Sisters in Arms is a leader-development program designed for female Soldiers and civilians that focuses on professionalizing the force through mentorship forums and opportunities. An "Empower, Inspire & Motivate" workshop is set for June 20 from 11:30 to 1 p.m. A self-defense and anti-bullying workshop will be held July 17 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, contact Staff Sgt. Garrison Command Sgt. Maj. DeeAnn K. Dunstan and a child from the Child Development Center plant a tree as part of the Fort McCoy celebration of Arbor Day. More than 300 trees were planted at a location near Highway 21 as part of the April 25 event.
