Sergeant Major of the Army speaks at NCO Academy

An audience of several hundred Warrior Leader Course graduates, Noncommissioned Officer Academy staff, Family members and friends listened to Sgt. Maj. of the Army Kenneth O. Preston talk about the future of the Army at a graduation ceremony at the Staff Sgt. Todd R. Cornell NCO Academy at Fort McCoy.

Engineer unit builds Combat Operating Post

Soldiers from the 1430th Engineer Company recently carved out a new Fort McCoy training site with the construction of Combat Operating Post Lashgar overlooking the Badger Drop Zone.

Whitetail Ridge Ski Area set to open Dec. 18, weather permitting

Fort McCoy’s Whitetail Ridge Ski Area is scheduled to open for the season, weather permitting, Saturday, Dec. 18. The facility is open to the public.

Deer hunters helped Fort McCoy meet its 2010 goals with a harvest of 697 animals during the Nov. 20-28 gun-deer hunt, right on pace with the target of 650-700 deer, said David Beckmann.
