181st preparing for winter mobilization mission

An increasing winter and continuing mobilization mission for Fort McCoy means the 181st Infantry Brigade, the mobilization trainers at McCoy, won’t get to work in the sunny Southern U.S. for the winter months. (Story, photo.)

Ceremony marks founder's birth date

Fort McCoy’s commemoration of “A Century of Service to America” continued as dignitaries from Fort McCoy and Sparta gathered Sept. 5 at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Sparta, Wis., to mark the birth date of Robert Bruce McCoy.

Since the early days of the decade, the 1st, 338th Training Support Battalion at Fort McCoy has provided training and support for units deploying to Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom.
