Stream improvement

A heavy-equipment crew with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources makes channel and fish habitat improvements to a section of the La Crosse River on Aug. 9 on North Post at Fort McCoy, Wis. The crew worked for several days improving channel depth, removing sediment buildup, and creating areas in the river to improve habitat for trout, such as brook trout and brown trout.
