Training activities on post

NCOA Best Warrior

Staff Sgts. Jvona Harrell and Zebhariah Dougherty compete in a Best Warrior Competition event for the Staff Sgt. Todd R. Cornell Noncommissioned Officer Academy Nov. 14 at Fort McCoy.

Events included the Army Physical Fitness Test, urban orienteering, first aid, a written test, land navigation, a ruck march, weapons qualification, weapons assembly in a dark room, a patrol/improvised explosive device lane, and an appearance/knowledge board. Dougherty earned the Best Warrior title in a close competition.

Soldiers with the 181st Multi-Functional Training Brigade participate in a Combat First Aid training class recently at Fort McCoy. The training helps prepare the brigade's observer-coach/trainers for upcoming training events within the brigade.

A Soldier with the 1st Battalion, 310th Brigade Engineer Battalion tosses a fake hand grenade at a Fort McCoy training area in early November during training and certification for employing hand grenades by battalion Soldiers. The activity was part of regular Warrior Task training and is required for battalion Soldiers in their certification as observer-coach/trainers. Training aids were provided by the Training Support Center with the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security.
