Weapons hot!

Soldiers with the 661st Engineer Company of the Illinois National Guard complete live-fire weapons qualification with the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon at Range 2 on Fort McCoy's North Post May 12.

The M249 is one of several weapons assigned to engineer units. Soldiers must qualify on the weapon annually, and many travel to Fort McCoy from all over the Midwest to do so.

Range 2 is one of 31 live-fire ranges available at Fort McCoy to support training at the installation.
