Fort McCoy's Religious Support Office (RSO) is busy preparing for spring and summer activities.

Chaplain Assistant Sgt. Joshua Beyer joined the RSO team in February and will be involved in all upcoming RSO activities.

The RSO has been conducting Financial Peace University classes since mid-February. The program teaches financial-management skills through a biblical and spiritual perspective.

"Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage" starts Friday, April 8. The program is a small-group course for couples that focuses on building better relationships through biblical studies and humor. The 12-week course meets from 6:15 to 8 p.m. Fridays at South Post Community Center, building 6158.

"Singles and Stinking Thinking" also will start Friday, April 8. This Bible study group for teens focuses on practical advice to make good decisions about dating and marriage. The course is approximately six weeks and meets from 5 to 6 p.m. Fridays at South Post Community Center.

Upcoming events include Centershot Ministries, a chaplain-sponsored program designed to teach archery and life skills while helping children develop self-esteem and character and form closer-knit families. Dates have not been finalized yet, but sessions tentatively are scheduled to start in May.

The archery program usually fills quickly, RSO Support Assistant Eve Bean said.

"It's something people really enjoy," she said.

Bean said if enough people are interested, the RSO will consider running a second session of Centershot Ministries in late summer or early fall.

The RSO will host its annual Memorial Day Prayer Luncheon Thursday, May 26, at McCoy's Community Center, building 1571.

The guest speaker is Father Michael Lightner with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Milwaukee.
