Snowmobilers drive along a trail at Fort McCoy Feb. 14 near Whitetail Ridge Ski Area. Several miles of snowmobile trails exist at the installation as part of the Monroe County snowmobile trail system in Wisconsin. At Fort McCoy, snowmobiles are authorized for use only on designated, open, state snowmobile trails.

Fort McCoy Whitetail Ridge Ski Area visitors try samples of chili during the Chili Taste-Off Feb. 13 at the ski area. Prizes were awarded for first and second places as well as for "best in show." One prize included a two-night cabin stay at Pine View Campground.

Participants in the cardboard-sled contest prepare to take their newly made sleds on a ride down the slopes at Whitetail Ridge Ski Area Feb. 12. Participants built their sleds using only cardboard and duct tape. Prizes were awarded to the fastest sled, most-creative sled, and the "ugly duckling." Ski-area staff provided the materials for the event.
