Airdrop training

An airdop bundle is released from a C-130 Hercules over the Badger Drop Zone on Fort McCoy's South Post. The airdrop was part of training by the 109th Airlift Squadron, a unit of the Minnesota Air National Guard's 133rd Airlift Wing at Minneapolis–Saint Paul Air Reserve Station, Minn.

The Badger Drop Zone is regularly used by the Air Force to complete airdrops.

Training-area construction

Contractors work on a Collapsed Structure Venue Site simulating a "rubble pile" at Collective Training Facility Hughes on Fort McCoy's North Post. When complete, the site will be one of three that allow personnel to train in search-and-rescue operations at the installation.

Firefighting practice

An Army aviation crew from the 1st Battalion, 147th Aviation Regiment of the Wisconsin Army National Guard at Madison maneuvers a Blackhawk helicopter equipped with a water-dipping bucket over Big Sandy Lake on Fort McCoy's South Post.

Two Blackhawks were used in the bucket training, which provides the aviation crews experience to help battle wildfires if called upon by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
