Strategic planning

Garrison Commander Col. Steven W. Nott (left) and the garrison senior staff hold a strategic planning meeting Oct. 14 at the Wisconsin State Patrol Academy at Fort McCoy.

The meeting is part of an ongoing effort to update the Fort McCoy Strategic Plan.

The current five-year plan was implemented in 2010.

The follow-on five-year strategic plan will align with changing times in the Army and starts in 2016.

Big Sandy construction

Contractors work to rebuild training ramps at Big Sandy Lake on Fort McCoy's South Post in early October. The ramps are used by Army units for bridging training. Once completed, the updated ramps will provide the most-current standards required by the Army for bridge-building training.

Customers look over items in Fort McCoy building 1560 during a Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) clearance sale held by the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (DFMWR) in early October. During a NAF sale, customers can purchase, at reduced cost, used items that DFMWR has either replaced or no longer needs.
