Throughout the event, goodies for the expected newborns — and a few treats to pamper the mothers — were provided on behalf of the staff, cadre, and command group of the academy. Command Sgt. Maj. Steven D. Dryer and his Family acknowledged how much support the expectant spouses provide to their Soldiers and wanted to give back, letting the Families know the welfare of the Family is just as important to success of the academy's overall mission.

This was the first baby shower hosted by the academy's FRG, led by Rawan Jenkins, FRG leader; newly appointed FRG liaison Sgt. 1st Class Elena Arratia; and newly appointed treasurer Megan Browning.

Most military organizations have an FRG to support the Families of deployable units; however, the NCOA exemplifies the true purpose of the group to "assist commanders in maintaining readiness of Soldiers, families, and communities within the Army by promoting self-sufficiency, resiliency, and stability," according to the Army FRG Leader's Handbook.
