Stillwell Lake dock upgrade

Workers prepare to remove an old dock in late June at Stillwell Lake on Fort McCoy. The new, longer dock pictured on shore then was installed to improve fishing access on the lake, which is located on the installation's South Post.

Golf tournament

A player tees off during the Fort McCoy golf tournament in late June at Hiawatha Golf Club in Tomah, Wis. Several teams participated in the event coordinated by the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation. The winner of the tournament was "Grip it and Sip it" (Justin Lene, Gerald Dewitt II, Gary Dewitt III, and Ron Elsing). The second-place team was "Divot Makers" (Jeanne Nugent, Paul Syron, Ray Peterson, and Ray Peterson Jr.), winning by the tie-breaker rules through hole 15. The runner-up second-place team was "Sappers Forward" (Jared Peledge, Chad Kuhn, Jason Bahr, and Dan Murphy).

Housing construction

Contractors work on new homes June 26 at the South Post Family Housing Area.

Carlson Constructors Corporation of Joliet, Ill., received the contract to build 42 new homes worth nearly $22 million.

This is the first new housing at Fort McCoy since 2012. An Army Housing Market Analysis completed in 2010 determined Fort McCoy has a housing requirement of 134 units based on personnel needs for housing.
