New housing construction

Contractors with Carlson Constructors Corp. of Joliet, Ill., use a pair of bulldozers to prepare an area for the construction of 42 new homes in the Fort McCoy South Post Family Housing area in March.

A contract totaling nearly $22 million was awarded in 2014 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to build the homes.

This is the first new housing construction on Fort McCoy since homes were completed in 2012.

On target!

Soldiers from the 388th Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Company of Junction City, Wis., use the Engagement Skills Trainer (EST) 2000 during battle assembly training at Fort McCoy in March.

The EST is a computer-simulated, live-action video system that tests shooters on their skills in a simulation environment.

Besides using the EST, the 388th Soldiers completed several other unit training requirements during three days of training at the installation.
