Lake-depth survey

Steve Rood (left) and Zach Woiak (right), both contracted watershed management specialists supporting the Directorate of Public Works Natural Resources Branch, take depth measurements Feb. 25 of Squaw Lake near Pine View Campground.

Rood and Woiak, who are employees of Colorado State University, measured the transect depth of two Fort McCoy lakes and plotted those measurements using GPS.

The work helps track sediment build-up for future lake management.

Pretty in pink

The Rumpel Fitness Center held a "Shake it in Pink" day for Zumba classes in February in support of breast-cancer awareness.

Zumba-class participants took part in the event by decorating T-shirts and wearing various shades of pink. Zumba is an aerobic workout that incorporates a variety of choreographed dance genres. Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. at the center.
