DFMWR to open CRO, offer fitness class card

Fort McCoy's Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (DFMWR) is moving into the fall season with some changes to their operations.

DFMWR's new Central Registration Office (CRO) will open Wednesday, Oct. 8 in building 1668. Hours will be Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. No new accounts will be set up after 4:30 p.m.

The CRO will sell season passes for Whitetail Ridge Ski Area, Sportsman's Range annual passes, Car Wash tokens, MWR gift certificates and Rumpel Fitness Center class punch cards. Customers also can register for MWR events and reserve pavilions at the office.

"This will be a one-stop shop for MWR customers," said Supervisory Recreation Specialist Pam Budda of DFMWR. "Having the office in building 1668 allows our customers a more convenient location to have access to Fort McCoy MWR services."
MWR identification (ID) cards also will be issued at the CRO for authorized customers who do not have a Department of Defense (DOD)-issued ID cards.

MWR ID cards will be issued, for example, to Family members of DOD civilian employees, and for children of military members under age 10 who have not yet received a DOD-issued card.

The MWR ID cards will allow for easy scanning to RecTrac — DFMWR's central tracking software system — at selected MWR facilities. MWR ID card recipients must be present to get their card because their photo will be taken.

"If anyone has any questions about whether or not they'll need an MWR ID card, we can help them any time at the Central Registration Office," Budda said.

Rumpel Fitness Center operations also will change. Customers who attend fitness classes now will pay a fee effective Jan. 5. A $30 unlimited monthly fitness class card will be sold at the CRO and the fitness center. Alternatively, customers can pay $3 per fitness class at the fitness center.

Personal training fees also have changed. Military personnel attending personal training sessions will pay $20 an hour, and civilians will be charged $30 an hour. The personal training fee will be waived for military personnel who are not in compliance with Field Manual 7-22 and/or Army Regulation 600-9, and, have a commander's letter placing them on the Army Weight Control Program and a body fat worksheet (Department of the Army Forms 5500 or 5501).

Pool-party parameters also have been updated.

A two-hour pool party for 15 people is $75. This includes room rental and pool time; cake and ice cream are allowed in the room. Hours available for pool parties are Mondays through Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Fridays from 4 to 7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
