Change of responsibility ceremony

First Sgt. James Fuqua, new first sergeant for Headquarters and Headquarters Company, U.S. Army Garrison Fort McCoy, accepts the noncommissioned officer sword from Capt. Scott Sumbles, company commander, during a change of responsibility ceremony June 26 in building 905. Fuqua took over first sergeant duties from 1st Sgt. Richard Sale, who is retiring from the Army.

Up, up and away!

A player hits a golf ball during the Fort McCoy Spring Golf Tournament held at the Hiawatha Golf Glub in Tomah, Wis. The tournament was organized by the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation. First-place team was "4 Strokes," which included Gary Dewitt, Gary Dewitt III, Justin Lene and Randy Martin.

Building demo

Workers with the All-Phase Solutions Company of Delray Beach, Fla., take down a 1940s-era building in the 700 block of Fort McCoy's cantonment area.

Additional buildings are slated for demolition throughout the summer.

Rail replacement

Construction workers replace rails June 24 at the crossing on Highway 21 near Fort McCoy's Main Gate.

The construction closed down Highway 21 for a week in June, and traffic was detoured.

The rail replacement allows for improved rail movements on and off the installation.

Red Arrow change of command

Col. Mike Rand passes the brigade colors of the 32nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT) to Command Sgt. Major Rafael Conde, command sergeant major of the 32nd IBCT, as a part of the change-of-command ceremony conducted at the Wisconsin Military Academy at Fort McCoy in June. Rand took command of the 32nd IBCT from Col. Tim Lawson during the ceremony.

Healthy Lifestyle Festival

People (bottom, left) participate in an exercise session, organized by trainers from the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation's Rumpel Fitness Center, in front of the Fort McCoy Commissary.

The festival took place June 27-29 and also included a farmer's market with commissary produce and a sidewalk sale featuring grocery and meat items.
