South Post Town Hall/Open House meeting May 22

The semiannual South Post Family Housing meeting Wednesday, May 22 will be a combination Town Hall/Open House event at McCoy's, building 1571.

The event will begin at 3 p.m. and is open to South Post Family Housing residents.

Ross O'Neil, chief of the Fort McCoy Housing Division, and Sherry Oslie, Fort McCoy Housing Management specialist, said the combination event will be more Family focused than previous meetings.

The event will begin with a brief presentation of pertinent South Post Family Housing information all residents should receive, and include a presentation by members of the Garrison Command Group, O'Neil said.

Oslie said the remainder of the event will include a number of break-out tables with organizational representatives and information from installation services, such as Morale, Welfare and Recreation organizations, spousal employment, the Fire Department, Safety, etc.

The new format will provide interaction between housing residents and organizational representatives on a one-on-one basis in a more informal setting.

Representatives from the Housing Division also will be on hand to answer questions about construction, including updates about the new warehouse and new military Family Housing units scheduled for fiscal year 2014 construction (see related story.)

Information about the renovation project being conducted at the South Post Community Center and the eventual relocation of the Housing Division to South Post also will be available.

"We hope the new format will be more informal and relaxed, and attendees and their Families can enjoy the event," O'Neil said.

"We hope this will create an atmosphere where Families can interact with all of the functions."

O'Neil said there is no set ending time for the event, and attendees can stay as long as they desire to get information.
