Erdie assumes command of 2nd, 86th

Erdie, a graduate of Louisiana State University-Shreveport, La., was commissioned through the university’s ROTC program. In January 2010, he served as battalion commander of Regional Training Center (RTC)-Central at Fort McCoy.

Upon promotion to colonel in August 2010, he served as the 86th Training Division’s RTC-Central liaison officer.

The mission of the 2nd Brigade is to provide the exercise control cell during the annual Warrior Exercise (WAREX) held at Fort McCoy. The brigade will control and validate the scenarios put forward to the units participating in the WAREX, which is designed to help units achieve a level of proficiency in unit tasks prior to deployment.

The 2nd Brigade (Training Development) mission is to control and validate training scenarios and help units achieve proficiency prior to deployment.

Bonner, the outgoing commander, has been assigned to the G3, 84th Training Command, located at Fort Knox, Ky.
