The ceremony began with remarks by Col. David E. Chesser, Fort McCoy garrison commander, who then fired a ceremonial shot downrange and hit the target dead center.

Guests also had the chance to use the facility’s Rifle Range (50, 100 and 200 meters), Pistol Range (50 meters) and Combination Trap & Skeet Shotgun Range. Other opening activities included a variety of door prizes, including a rifle.

“The Family and MWR Sportsman’s Range is the newest offering to the entire Fort McCoy community and will provide an additional recreational opportunity on the installation,” Budda said.
