Safety Stand-Down Nov. 16 8 a.m.-noon

The Installation Management Command (IMCOM) Safety Stand-Down at Fort McCoy is Tuesday, Nov. 16 from 8 a.m. – noon.

The Safety Stand-Down aims to focus on correcting safety deficiencies and conducting safety training that will result in changes in behavior to save lives, prevent accidents and injuries, and protect property.

All Fort McCoy garrison personnel are required to stop routine operations and participate in the scheduled activities. All tenant organizations are encouraged to let their personnel participate in the scheduled activities as much as possible without impacting mission requirements.

Safety activities scheduled for Safety Stand-Down Day include completion of the Army Readiness Assessment Program survey for garrison civilians and Soldiers; required, as appropriate, online training courses available at https://www.lms.army.mil; mandatory facility inspections and a safety fair.

The safety fair will be held from 8 a.m. – noon at building 905. It will provide safety and health-awareness information, including Fall and Winter Safety Campaign information, blood-pressure testing, hunting safety, fire extinguisher simulator demonstration, flu immunizations and much more. The Maneuver Area Training Equipment Site also will have vehicle mechanics available to conduct vehicle safety checks in preparation for winter driving. This event is open to all Fort McCoy garrison and tenant organizations.

The police department also will set up random traffic enforcement points on main traffic routes to emphasize seat-belt usage, speed enforcement, and traffic enforcement. This will be done on the day prior to the Safety Stand-Down and the day of the Safety Stand-Down.

The Safety Stand-Down activities are coordinated by the Installation Safety Office (ISO). For more information, call the ISO at 608-388-3403.
