Holiday Giving Program to
receive donations from Fort McCoy community beginning Oct. 30

The Fort McCoy Chaplainís Holiday Giving Program will begin accepting donations Thursday, Oct. 30 for the Thanksgiving and Hanukkah/Christmas holiday season.

The program will run through the Hanukkah/Christmas season, which ends with Christmas Dec. 25.

Members of the Fort McCoy community can support the program in two ways ó through a monetary donation for food or by donating a gift for a child through the "Angel Tree Program."

Monetary contributions for food for the Thanksgiving season will run through Nov. 18. Nominations for food vouchers and Angel Tree gifts also need to be submitted to the Religious Support Office (RSO), building 2675, by this date. Contributions for the Hanukkah (Dec. 22) and Christmas season will be accepted through Dec. 16.

Donations can be brought to the RSO during business hours from 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays. Donations can be made by cash or checks. Checks should be made payable to Fort McCoy CTOF (Chapel Tithes and Offerings Fund), with an annotation of Holiday Food.

The Angel Tree is scheduled to be up in the Main Post Exchange (PX), building 1538, by early November. Anyone in the Fort McCoy community can choose an ornament from the tree and purchase an appropriate gift for that child. The PX is providing a 10 percent discount for toys bought in the PX. Personnel can take their gifts and the ornament to the PX Customer Service Counter, where it will be wrapped free of charge. Gifts must be purchased and given to the PX by Dec. 11.

Military and Department of Defense (DoD) civilian (no contractor) families are eligible to be recipients in the program and can be nominated anonymously by/through their supervisors.

Food and Christmas gifts will be based on review of the submitted applications and total amount of donations.

Priority will be given to military (lower to higher rank) and then DoD civilians in the Fort McCoy community.

For more information, call the RSO at (608) 388-3528.
