Meals to go
Sgt. Ryan Thompson hands up a mermite insulated food container to Sgt. Edward Hernandez in the truck at the Army Reserve Readiness Training Center. The Soldiers, with the 863rd Engineer Battalion Forward Support Company, were picking up the evening meal to deliver to the 309th Engineer Company at Contingency Operating Location Liberty. The 309th is a subordinate unit with the 863rd. Both units are training to deploy in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Organizational run
The 181st Infantry Brigade lines up for dismissal formation following a four-mile “motivational and conditioning” run on Fort McCoy. About 250 Soldiers participated in the September event. The 181st has similar events planned for October and November.

Soldiers from the 197th Fires Brigade line up at one of the dozens of in-processing stations in Fort McCoy’s Soldier Readiness Center. About 3,000 Soldiers from the brigade, headquartered in New Hampshire and with battalions in Michigan, Rhode Island and West Virginia, are mobilizing to deploy in support of Operation New Dawn.
