Dianne Sommers, the ACS Army Family Team Building (AFTB) Program Manager, said attendees taking the course can use the training as professional development to improve their instructional skills.

Upon completion of the class, students also are qualified to become instructors for the AFTB program.

Students are required to give a 10-minute presentation as part of the course. Evaluations are provided by Master Trainers and by the other students in the class. Instructor Trainer Course modules include Platform Skills, The Adult Learner, Characteristics of Effective Instructors, Managing the Learning Environment, and the Preparation Process.

The two-and-one-half-day course is offered quarterly and is open to everyone in the Fort McCoy community, Sommers said.
