Financial Peace University
courses to be offered here

The Fort McCoy Religious Support Office (RSO) will sponsor a Financial Peace University (FPU) course, beginning Tuesday, Oct. 7 to help installation employees strategically and effectively eliminate debt and build wealth.

The training will consist of brown bag lunch sessions from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. each Tuesday for 26 weeks at the Chapel Center, building 2675.

Personal Finance Expert Dave Ramsey presents the financial information via an intensive and in-depth personal finance 13-lesson DVD course, which covers everything from budgeting and paying off debt to retirement planning and the benefits of charitable donations.

Fort McCoy chaplain facilitators will present the training, which will be broken down into 26 one-hour sessions to better accommodate attendeesí schedules, said Garrison Chaplain (Col.) Steven Colwell.

The course will enhance the financial readiness of military and civilian personnel, alike, and is part of the installationís Commands Master Religious Program. FPU financial training is designed to equip military personnel with the security and protection of a sound financial plan during times of activation, deployment, temporary duty (TDY) and Permanent Change of Station (PCS) assignments.

When servicemembers arenít preoccupied with mounting financial stress back home, they are better able to focus on their duty and their unitís mission with a greater peace of mind.

The course training materials, a $100 value, will be provided free to the first 20 registered attendees.

Military personnel attending the course will need their supervisorsí approval.

Civilian personnel may attend this course in an annual leave capacity, or with the approval of their supervisor, by adjusting their work schedule consistent with mission-support requirements.

Attendees are requested to bring a sack lunch. The RSO program will provide free soda and coffee.

For more information about the course, call the RSO at (608) 388-3528.
