Family & MWR program website redesigned, more user friendly

The Fort McCoy Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) website has been redesigned to make it more user friendly and give it a fresh, up-to-date appearance.

The website will retain the same address at http://www.mccoymwr.com.

Fort McCoy Family and MWR personnel have been working on the updated site since last fall, and it made its debut in late August, said Jobi Spolum, Fort McCoy Family and MWR Marketing director.

The new site was created by Installation Management Command-Northeast Region Information Technology and the Fort McCoy Marketing Office. Carlisle Barracks in Pennsylvania was the first installation in the region to debut a new MWR website.

“The goal is to have MWR websites consistent in their navigation, so the Army Family will be able to easily go from one garrison’s site to another and find what they are looking for,” Spolum said.

The new site provides easy access to information about upcoming MWR events, Army Community Service class registration, campsites and equipment rental at Pine View Campground, Rumpel Fitness Center class information, Family and MWR Newsletter access, and much more.

A number of categories with dropdown menus help site users quickly find the information, and a calendar of events is accessible on the site’s home page.

“The website is a great way to communicate to our customers 24-7 and also allows them to find information and answers to their questions even when our office is closed,” Spolum said. “It is probably the most-important and convenient marketing tool our customers can use to find information about all the Family and MWR facilities and services.”
