The 2010 Fort McCoy Hunting, Fishing, Trapping Laws &
Regulations have been approved and are available online.
The regulation — 420-29: Hunting, Fishing, Trapping Laws & Regulations —
currently is available at the Fort McCoy public website at
or through a link on the Fort McCoy Corporate Network under the Online
Publications category by clicking on the words McCoy Publications
(Circulars, Memos, Pams, Regs).
Hunting and fishing maps will not be available online.
David Beckmann, Fort McCoy wildlife biologist, said a few of the changes
in the 2010 regulation include a definition of baiting, hunting area
access procedures, blaze orange requirements for hunting blinds, and
hunting hours for the Fort McCoy Gun-Deer Season. All Fort McCoy
hunting, fishing, and trapping permit holders are required to know what
is in the regulation.
New for 2010 is the availability of antlerless deer bonus tags for the
deer archery season.
Beckmann said a limited number of archery bonus tags will be available
on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning Sept. 13 at 10 a.m. Tags
will be sold over-the-counter from any authorized Wisconsin Department
of Natural Resources Automated License Issuance System agent.
Printed regulations and maps will be available by the end of August at
Pine View Campground, building 8053, the Welcome Center, building 35,
the Permit Sales Office, building 2168, and the Post Exchange, building
