Religious Support Office to offer 9/11 remembrance service

The Sept. 11, 2011 Protestant service at Fort McCoy will remember the events and aftermath of the terrorist attacks Sept. 11, 2001.

The Sunday service will begin at 9:30 a.m. in Chapel 1, building 2672, and is open to members of all religious denominations in the Fort McCoy community.

Chaplain (Col.) Tom Phelan, site support chaplain for the Fort McCoy Religious Support Office (RSO), said the service will honor the 10th anniversary of the event and cover the spiritual aspect of the date and what has transpired since then.

The event will include patriotic hymns, as well as the normal order of service.

A fellowship time at the Chapel Center, building 2675, will follow the service from approximately 10:45 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Refreshments will be available, and a special video presentation will be shown at about 11 a.m.

For more information about the event, call the RSO at 608-388-3528.
