|A Garrison Commander’s Call will be held
Wednesday, Sept. 7 from 4-6:30 p.m. at McCoy’s, building 1571. The event is
open to all tenants and directorates, military ranks and civilians.
The event provides an opportunity for members of the Fort McCoy community and Garrison Command Group to come together in an atmosphere of camaraderie, good fellowship, and social rapport. It allows time for members to network, share issues, or to get acquainted with other associates at Fort McCoy.

Community Service (ACS) Spouse Employment Program will offer two
interviewing-related workshops in September. Each workshop will be held
at the ACS Center, building 2111, from 8:30-11:30 a.m.

Building is offering Brown Bag Lunch & Learn classes in September at the
South Post Community Center, building 6158. Classes are Wednesdays from
11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
|Commemorative Area buildings open to public Sept. 9 [ back to top ]|
|In recognition of Patriot Day, the Fort McCoy
Commemorative Area will be open to the public from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 9.
The park-like setting of Fort McCoy’s Commemorative Area includes its History Center, five World War II-era buildings representative of Soldier life in the 1940s, an Equipment Park and Veterans Memorial Plaza.

|MWR Golf Scramble set for Sept. 16 in Sparta [ back to top ]|
|The Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation
Four-person Golf Scramble is Friday, Sept. 16 at 11 a.m. The tournament is
being held at the River Run Golf Course in Sparta.
The tournament is open to the entire Fort McCoy community and their Family members. The registration fee is $15 per person plus greens and cart fees.
Door prizes, awards, and a $10,000 prize for a hole-in-one will be offered.
Registration forms and fees must be submitted to the Rumpel Fitness Center, building 1122, by Sept. 9.

The training provides tools for attendees to better assist Soldiers and Family members with community and online resources such as MilitaryOneSource, ArmyOneSource and MyArmyBenefits websites.

meets the third Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at McCoy’s, building
|Weather radios being issued to South Post residents [ back to top ]|
|Weather radios are being issued to residents of
Fort McCoy’s South Post Military Housing as part of a cooperative effort
between the Directorate of Public Works Housing Office and the Fort McCoy
Emergency Management Office.
The effort is part of the Mass Warning and Notification System (MWNS) initiative from the Fort McCoy Protection Working Group and Protection Executive Committee to ensure safe and resilient communities.
This action was taken to rectify an issue raised during the annual Army Family Action Plan conference and supplements the continued expansion of the installation’s MWNS capability.
While the external MWNS provides announcements for children and adults outside at South Post, these weather radios are a direct link to the National Weather Service announcements.

WASHINGTON (Army News Service) — A new suicide prevention awareness video just released by the Army is aimed primarily at both junior leadership and first-line supervisors, to let them know their responsibility to be the first to identify and assist those in need.
