Soldiers transfer rucksacks from a tractor-trailer to a conveyor belt and into the aircraft on the Volk Field ramp. Duffle bags and footlockers also were among the personal gear loaded for the flight. The Soldiers are with the 125th Field Artillery, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division, Minnesota Army National Guard, deploying in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

About 3,500 unit members recently demobilized through Fort McCoy, having completed a one-year tour of duty supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Eight jumpers are visible (top) as they float down over Fort McCoy’s Badger Drop Zone on South Post. Two other jumpers walk back to a rally point, having jumped on an earlier pass by the aircraft. Two jumpers (bottom) are out of the door as a C-130 aircraft passes over the Fort McCoy Badger Drop Zone. They were part of the joint Army and Air National Guard Patriot Exercise. The aircraft were provided by the Minnesota and West Virginia Air Guard. The lead element of jumpers was the 3rd Squadron, 108th Cavalry Regiment (Reconnaissance and Surveillance) of the Georgia Army National Guard. They were joined by jumpers from several Air Force Air Support Operations Squadrons.
