RSC offering CYS Services
|The 88th Regional Support Command (RSC) Child, Youth
and School (CYS) Services program is ready to provide support to
school-age youth from Army Reserve Families.
Prince Amartey, 88th RSC Community Outreach specialist, and Carin White,
88th RSC School Support specialist, serve Army Reserve Family youth in a
19-state area. Amartey and White are located at Fort McCoy, the 88th
RSC’s headquarters. The CYS Services mission is to support readiness and
quality of life by reducing the conflict between military mission
requirements and parental responsibilities, Amartey said.
Amartey and White are busy meeting with school district staff to explain
the programs and services that help support Army Reserve youth, both in
Families stationed in the 88th RSC’s coverage area and those who may
have a parent deployed.
The program can help Families find quality child care, help educate
Soldiers and Family members about available child and youth programs,
build relationships with community organizations to increase support for
Army Reserve Families and provide youth development opportunities.
Several Army Reserve Enrichment Camps are scheduled in the summer months
for youth ages 7-14. Camps that begin in June are available at locations
in the states of New York, Washington, and Virginia.
Camps held in July are scheduled at North Carolina, Georgia, California,
Texas and Saipan.
Army Reserve Family youth can attend these camps at no cost for
activities. The only cost is for transportation to and from the sites.
