Month of the Military Child
Mother Goose (portrayed by Bonnie Trapp of Army Community Service) (top) reads to children of the Child Development Center, while Station Chief Todd Swansby of the Fort McCoy Fire Department (bottom) greets the children before reading to them. The events, as well as a Lyrical Jazz Dance presentation and other activities, were held to celebrate the Month of the Military Child and the (National Association for the Education of Young Children) Week of the Young Child at the Child Development Center during April.

The National Arbor Day Foundation Tree City USA banner, held by Garrison Deputy Commander Lt. Col. (promotable) Rob Humphrey (left) and Garrison Command Sergeant Major Command Sgt. Maj. William Bissonette, was awarded to Fort McCoy for the 23rd consecutive year for its efforts to promote trees as an important part of the environment.

Members of the Fort McCoy Child Development Center helped the installation honor the event April 27 and also helped plant trees near the Main Gate as part of the National Arbor Day celebration.
