The Fort McCoy Contracted Postal Unit (Office) has relocated to
building 1649 South 11th Ave.
The Postal Unit, which handles unofficial mail needs, had been
located at building 1654 for more than 20 years.
It now is located in the same building as Fort McCoy Shipping
and Services. Each entity will have its own entrance.

Both entities will be operated under contract by Jane Barnas,
who also owns the Shipping and Services business.
The Postal Unit will be open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday,
and closed weekends and federal holidays.

The move will give the Postal Unit more room to handle its
operations than it now has.
Barnas said the new location will bring all the unofficial
postal/mailing needs of the Fort McCoy community into the same
building and offer one-stop service.
In addition to stamps, the Post Office will continue to provide
U.S. Postal (mail) services for priority flat rate boxes, express,
registered, certified, and insured mail. Money orders are available
for cash only.
Services the Fort McCoy Shipping and Services facility provides
include shipping and delivery, various packing materials such as boxes
of all sizes, tape, bubble wrap, specialized envelopes and packing
fillers -- all can be purchased on site.

When the Postal Unit was located in building 1654, patrons who
needed packing material had to go to building 1649 to get it. Now, the
supplies will be located in the same facility.

Cathy Junker of the Directorate of Human Resources/Directorate
of Family, Morale Welfare and Recreation said the Official Mail and
Distribution Center (OMDC) will remain in building 1654.
The OMDC handles official governmental mail and is open from 7
a.m. 4 p.m. weekdays and closed weekends and federal holidays.
The move will benefit the OMDC staff because they no longer
will have their work flow interrupted by personnel asking questions
about unofficial mail when the Postal Unit is closed, Junker said.
