Health, Wellness Fair set for 
Rumpel Fitness Center May 13

The Fort McCoy Health and Wellness Fair will be held from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, May 13 at the Rumpel Fitness Center, building 1122.

Among the planned highlights for the event are a run/walk event, a blood drive, various booths and a free throw and three-point shooting contest.

Preregistration for a competitive 5K run and a "Walk for the Health of It" recreational event is under way and will continue through 9:30 a.m. May 13.

The event begins at 10:15 a.m. No fees are charged, and prizes will be awarded in the running event.

A blood drive will be held from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Interested personnel can register online for an appointment at 
http://www.givebloodgivelife.org or register the day of the event.

Other health-related activities/events will include blood-pressure checks (Occupational Health Nursing Office OHNO) and walking/running-shoe analysis.

OHNO personnel also will have information/be able to answer questions about such topics as heat-injury prevention and deer ticks/Lyme disease.

The free-throw and three-point shooting contests will run from 11 a.m.-noon. Prizes will be awarded.

Booths will be open from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and include a lot of health and wellness information, as well as information from local businesses.

Door prizes will be available throughout the event.

The Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers program will sell lunch items to interested personnel.
