|A reassignment and repatching ceremony was held April 2
to officially assign the 2nd Brigade, 70th Division to the 86th Training
Division (Operations) at Fort McCoy.

Lt. Col. Bruce Enck, the personnel officer, S-1, with the 2nd
Brigade, said the reassignment was effective Oct. 1, 2010. The April 2
ceremony, although after the effective date, symbolized the passing of
the command and Soldiers from the 70th Division to the 86th Division as
is in keeping with Army customs and traditions.
The 2nd Brigade supports operations for the 86th Training Division
(Operations), which constructs, coordinates, and executes meaningful and
challenging Warrior Exercises (WAREX) and Combat Support Training
Exercises (CSTX), Enck said. These exercises generate commander-specific
capabilities in an interactive training environment that fits the Army
Force Generation model and prepares Soldiers, units, and staffs to
execute their specified wartime mission to Army standards.
The 2nd Brigade will support the 86th Training Division (Operations)
with the execution of the WAREX and CSTX and will provide
observer-controller-trainer (OCT) support to the operation. The
organization also will operate the 86th Training Division (Operations)
OCT academy that trains OCTs for the brigade and other operational and
