Parents in the Fort McCoy community seeking an effective and
positive way to discipline their children are welcome to attend the
1-2-3 Magic Parenting Workshop from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 22.
The workshop, which will be held at Army Community Service
(ACS) 2111 South 8th Ave., is geared for parents of children from ages
2-12. It will be presented by Ted Stein of Stein Counseling and
Consulting Services Ltd.
The three-step program includes controlling obnoxious behavior,
encouraging good behavior and strengthening relationships.
Registration is requested by Friday, April 18. Eligible parents
will receive 200 Family Focus Franks for attending.
Eligible parents can receive an additional 200 Family Focus
Franks, a parenting pin and a magnet by checking out April spotlight
materials from the ACS Resource Library.
April is being observed as Child Abuse Prevention Month and
Month of the Military Child.
Among the parenting reference materials that can be checked out
are "The Five Love Languages of Children" and the
"Positive Discipline" series.
