Easter Bunny to visit Constitution Park  [ back to top ]

The Easter Bunny will visit the Fort McCoy community as part of an Easter Egg Hunt at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 11 at Constitution Park at Fort McCoy. The inclement weather location will be the Rumpel Fitness Center, building 1122.

All authorized military youth in the Fort McCoy community are welcome to attend the event, which is co-sponsored by the Fort McCoy Commissary and Main Post Exchange.

RSO to offer additional Easter Service April 12   [ back to top ]

The Fort McCoy Religious Support Office (RSO) will host an additional Protestant Easter Service from 7-8 a.m. Sunday, April 12 in Chapel 1, building 2672.

The Service will be followed by a continental breakfast in the Chapel Center, building 2675.

Regularly scheduled Mass/Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. in Chapel 10, building 1759, for Catholics and in Chapel 1 for Protestants.

A fellowship meeting will follow those worship opportunities in the Chapel Center.

Resumix workshop planned for April 15  [ back to top ]

A Resumix Resume Builder workshop will be held from noon-2 p.m. Wednesday, April 15 at the Army Community Service (ACS) center, 2111 South 8th Ave.

The workshop will be sponsored by the ACS Spouse Employment Program. Participants will learn how to set up an account and navigate the Resumix Civilian Personnel Online system.

Registration is requested by Friday, April 10. Seating is limited, with priority given to military spouses. For more information or to make reservations, call ACS at 608-388-3505.


Broomball tournament set for April 18 at McCoy    [ back to top ]

A Broomball Tournament will be held at the Fort McCoy Rumpel Fitness Center, building 1122, at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18.

Authorized personnel interested in participating are requested to assemble their teams and register them by Thursday, April 16 at the Fitness Center.

Registration is free. The first-place team will win a Fort McCoy Outdoor Recreation package.

New pilot resume/referral system coming to McCoy  [ back to top ]

Managers and employees in the Fort McCoy garrison soon will begin participation in the Department of Defense pilot of a new resume/referral system.

The Department of Defense Enterprise Staffing System, known as AVUE, is slated to replace Resumix at Fort McCoy and Armywide.

Training sessions for managers and supervisors are being scheduled for May.

Concentration camp survivor to speak April 23    [ back to top ]

A concentration camp survivor will be the guest speaker at Fort McCoy’s Thursday, April 23 observance for the Days of Remembrance.

Henry Golde, 79, survived being interned in nine Nazi-run concentration camps during a five-year span in World War II.

Golde will relive his memories of that time and share what he experienced in the hopes the next generation will prevent another Holocaust.

The event will be held from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at McCoy’s, building 1571, and everyone in the Fort McCoy community is welcome to attend.

Dodgeball duel slated for April 27 at Fitness Center   [ back to top ]

A Dodgeball duel will be held beginning at 5 p.m. Monday, April 27 at the Rumpel Fitness Center, building 1122. Authorized patrons are encouraged to form five-member teams to compete in the tournament. No entry fees are required.

The grand champion team will receive an Outdoor Recreation package, which includes five paddle-boat passes, five mini-golf passes, five paintball passes and a Morale, Welfare and Recreation Goodie Bag.

TSP workshop set for April 29 at ACS   [ back to top ]

A Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) workshop will be held from 9 a.m.-noon Wednesday, April 29. The workshop will be sponsored by the Fort McCoy Army Community Service (ACS) Financial Readiness program, 2111 South 8th Ave.

Topics covered will include General Savings Concepts, Tax Differed versus Taxable Accounts, Traditional IRAs and Roth IRAs, TSP Investment Options, TSP Loans and TSP Withdrawal Annuity Options.

 Arbor Day ceremony set for May 1  [ back to top ]

A ceremony will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 1 at the north end of Parade Field 1 to help Fort McCoy celebrate National Arbor Day.

The event is open to members of the Fort McCoy community and will include representatives from Fort McCoy’s Command Group, the Directorate of Public Works Forestry Section and the Child Youth and School Services program.

Course set for 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families [ back to top ]

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families for Army Families workshop will be held Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2 at Fort McCoy Army Community Service (ACS), 2111 South 8th Ave.

Classes will run from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. both days. The workshop is designed to provide tools to help families successfully communicate and problem-solve together. Attendees will experience interactive exercises, case studies and video segments and will learn from the experience of others.

Inland fishing season to open May 2 [ back to top ]

The Fort McCoy Inland Fishing Season will begin Saturday, May 2.

Personnel, including the public, may fish Fort McCoy waters if they have valid state and installation licenses and permits. Anglers can pick up Wisconsin and Fort McCoy fishing licenses and permits from any Automated License Issuance System agent.

McCoy fishing contest to run May 2-Sept. 5  [ back to top ]

The Fort McCoy fishing contest will run from Saturday, May 2, to Saturday, Sept. 5 and is open to the public.

All fish must be caught in Fort McCoy waters. Anglers must observe all state and Fort McCoy regulations and have current state and Fort McCoy licenses and permits.

First- and second-place prizes will be determined in each category by weight. Fish length will be used as the tiebreaker, if necessary. Each participant is eligible for one prize only.

Categories will be largemouth bass, rainbow trout, crappie, cat fish, bull head and blue gill. Participants must register their fish at the Pine View Recreation Area Campground Office, building 8053, within 24 hours of catching the fish and cannot freeze them.

U.S. Army Soldier Show to perform at McCoy May 30 [ back to top ]

The U.S. Army Soldier Show will perform at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 30 at the Rumpel Fitness Center, building 1122, at Fort McCoy.

Doors will open one hour before the performance begins.

The event is open to the public, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Admission is free.

Army Concert Tour tickets to go on sale July 10  [ back to top ]

A ticket kickoff sale has been set for Friday, July 10 for the Army Concert Tour event at Fort McCoy.

Tickets to the Aug. 28 concert featuring country artists Brooks & Dunn and classic-rock artist Lynyrd Skynyrd will cost $40 on July 10.

Tickets will cost $45 from Saturday, July 11 through Thursday, Aug. 27. Tickets will cost $50 the day of the show.

All sales are subject to the availability of tickets. Ticket sale locations, dates and times will be released when known.
