Change of Command set for 2 p.m. April 3

Fort McCoy will hold a garrison change-of-command ceremony 2 p.m. Thursday, April 3 at the Rumpel Fitness Center, building 1122, when Col. David E. Chesser assumes command from Col. Derek J. Sentinella.

Because of the ongoing Global War on Terror, support demands require the garrison to continue normal operations during that time -- there will be no closures or curtailing of operations or an early work force dismissal.

All military and federal civilian personnel assigned to the garrison who wish to attend the event are welcome. If they wish to attend during duty time, they need to obtain supervisory approval before the event.

First-line supervisors retain the authority to approve such requests ensuring that work centers can meet their responsibilities to support the installation's training and mobilizing customers.

Contracted personnel, given their conditions of work and operating status, are not authorized to attend this event.

For garrison employees attending the change of command in a duty status, the Fitness Center will be their place of duty. Garrison employees attending the change-of-command ceremony and/or reception during their duty day may leave the installation at the end of their regularly scheduled tour of duty.

If they leave the ceremony/reception before the end of their duty day, they will be required to return to their employing organization until the end of their duty day.

Tenant organization personnel are welcome to participate in this event.

Each tenant organization will establish its own employee attendance policy consistent with ongoing mission support demands and the approval of their respective chain-of-command structure.
