Applications for the 2010 fall hunting seasons at Fort McCoy are
available and can be postmarked beginning Monday, March 29.
David Beckmann, Fort McCoy wildlife biologist, said applications now are
available for the Gun-Deer, Muzzle-Loader, Cantonment Archery, and Fall
All of these hunts have a limited number of permits and individuals are
required to submit an application to be considered for selection.
Applications can be mailed starting March 29 and will be accepted until
the quotas are filled.
Individuals are reminded to read the information provided with the
application for specific requirements and any changes. Applications
without a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) Customer
Number, hand delivered, or postmarked before March 29 will be returned.
Applicants are encouraged to mail their applications on March 29 as
permit quotas fill up quickly.
Beckmann said applicants should not enclose money with the applications.
Those selected for a quota-hunt permit will be notified and can then buy
their permit(s) from an authorized WDNR Automated License Issuance
System (ALIS) vendor.
WDNR ALIS vendors are located throughout Wisconsin, including Pine View
Recreation Area, building 8053, and the Post Exchange (for military
personnel), building 1538, at Fort McCoy.
