The RIA Federal Credit Union has moved into building 1501, a newly
renovated facility that will allow easier access and visibility for
members located at Fort McCoy.
Julie Pierce, a member service assistant for RIA Federal Credit
Union, assists a customer in the credit union’s new location.
The location, on the northwest corner of J Street and 10th Avenue, is
across from the Exchange and Commissary complex.
“Now we are in a central area of the post and near the Exchange, which
gives us more visibility,” said Donna Evans, RIA Federal Credit Union
manager. “It makes sense to be located around this area.”
The renovation project was completed by Fowler & Hammer of La Crosse,
Wis., said Dan Hanson, the Fort McCoy Directorate of Public Works
contract office representative for the project.
The renovation, which began in October 2012, included all new interior
finishes, such as flooring, ceilings, paint, bathrooms, reception/teller
stations, and all new exterior finishes, including doors, windows, a new
brick facade, and metal roofing, Hanson said.
The building also has a 24/7 walk-up ATM and night deposit box in the
facility’s vestibule area.
“The facility has a better, more businesslike atmosphere,” Evans said.
“It’s also a better facility for employees to work in.”
Evans said there are still some things that need be completed.
Signage needs to be installed, and, when weather permits, the parking
lot will be resurfaced.
An open house will be held in the April/May timeframe, Evans said.
RIA also will begin having a Member Service/Loan officer at the Fort
McCoy branch in the near future.
“The plan is to have someone here to help customers with loan closings
two to three days per week for a few hours, to assist members with
questions, loans, accounts and new products,” she said.
‘We hope with this move our membership and office traffic will increase
so that we can increase hours of operation at this location,” Evans
Currently hours are Monday-Wednesday 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and Thursday.-Friday
9 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-5 p.m.
Evans said the old RIA facility located in the 2100 block will be torn
down to make way for a new loading facility.
