Wii tournament set to begin
March 18 at McCoy's

Authorized military and civilian members of the Fort McCoy community are welcome to participate in a six-night Wii tournament, which will run from March 18-20, March 26-27 and 29 at McCoy's, building 1571. Practice opportunities will be available from Monday, March 3 through Monday, March 17 at both McCoy's and the Community Activity Center, building 2000.

"Wii is an interactive system that is quite popular right now. This is kind of like a trial run to see how popular it will be here."

Mark Siple,
McCoy's General Manager

The competition will include five sports on different nights and a one-day aggregate final of all the sports. All of the competition will be done with a Wii console or system. Wii is a computerized game format put out by Nintendo.

More information about the competition/games, which is running throughout the Army at a number of locations, is available in the insert contained in the print version (Feb. 22) of The Real McCoy which can be found at several outlets throughout Fort McCoy or by calling the Public Affairs Office at (608) 388-2769/4128.

Mark Siple, the new general manager of McCoy's, said he is looking forward to the competition.

"Wii is an interactive system that is quite popular right now," Siple said. "This is kind of like a trial run to see how popular it will be here. If we get enough interest, we may think about having this on a permanent basis at McCoy's."

Each sport in the competition at McCoy's will have a single winner, who will receive a prize dedicated to that competition.

The top four personnel in each competition will move onto the final where they will compete for a grand, second- and third-place prize. All competitors must be 18-years-old or older.
