Kevin Herman of the Fort
McCoy Army Community Service (ACS) Center represented Fort McCoy at the
Department of the Army (DA) Army Family Action Plan (AFAP) Conference
held in Arlington, Va.
Fort McCoy AFAP delegate Kevin Herman has his
picture taken with Army Chief of Staff Gen. George Casey at the
Army-level Army Family Action Plan Conference.
Herman was chosen as the Fort
McCoy representative because he has experience in several areas: as a
Soldier, a retiree, a civilian employee, and as the parent of a Soldier.
Herman, who also has been an active participant in the past three Fort
McCoy AFAP conferences, was assigned as a delegate in the employment
work group. He plans to continue his involvement in the Fort McCoy AFAP
“Attending the DA AFAP
conference allowed me to participate in the process from beginning to
end, as well as enabling me to see the extensive support Army leadership
directs toward the AFAP,” Herman said.
It is important for all
installations to be represented at the higher-level AFAP conferences, he
Bringing representatives from
all locations together makes for a broad-based conference personifying
many backgrounds and gives every installation a voice in the process.
