McCoy Family and MWR offers online registration, reservations

By Rob Schuette, Public Affairs Staff

Authorized personnel in the Fort McCoy community now can make online reservations or register to use facilities, equipment, classes and services through the Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) program.

Jobi Spolum, Family and MWR Marketing director, said the webtrac computer reservation system provides customers with 24/7 access to make reservations/registrations.

“Customers are used to making online registration/reservations for many things, such as hotels, or paying bills,” Spolum said. “Allowing them to do it for our programs is another convenience.”

Use of the webtrac system requires a user name and password, which can be obtained by calling 608-388-3517 or sending e-mail to usarmy.mccoy.imcom-fmwrc.list.dfmwr-rechh@mail.mil.

At the webtrac website, https://webtrac.mwr.army.mil/webtrac/mccoyrectrac.html, users can click on “enroll in activities” and then select the desired events.

Services/events that can be paid for through webtrac include the Army Concert Tour, the Child, Youth and School Services programs, Rumpel Fitness Center running events, and Pine View Campground lodging. The Army Concert Tour event and Pine View activities/services are open to the public.

Information about Family and MWR activities is available by phone at 608-388-7400 or toll free 1-877-864-4969, or online at http://www.mccoymwr.com.

Webtrac requires payments at the time of registration. Payments for webtrac reservations can be made with Visa or MasterCard credit cards. No refunds are given, except when military personnel have a change in their orders.

“People still have other choices, such as calling in, e-mailing in or faxing in their registrations or reservations, as well as doing it on-site for many of the events, Spolum said. “The use of webtrac is an added convenience.”

Spolum noted some activities may have priority reservations as well. For example, Pine View specifically reserves lodging sites to accommodate active-duty military and their immediate Families who cannot pre-arrange reservations due to mission requirements.

Spolum said webtrac probably won’t be used for every event. Authorized personnel may use the Fort McCoy Family and MWR website to register online for many events, such as ACS classes or workshops.

“The website is a great way to communicate to our customers 24-7 and also allows them to find information and answers to their questions even when our office is closed,” Spolum said. “It is probably the most-important and convenient marketing tool our customers can use to find information about all the Family and MWR facilities and services.”

Cori Yahnke, the School Age Services and Youth Center director, said parents have said they appreciate having the option of paying online.

Chelsey Smith, Child Development Center director, said the feedback her staff has received is that the people who use it like it, but wish they could pay ahead of time. Some customers wish they could pay the whole month, as well.

Pam Budda, post outdoor recreation manager, said webtrac is working well at Pine View. “Both the staff and customers say they enjoy the added convenience of using the system,” she said.
