Spotlight

C Company 3rd, 399th

(Editor’s note: “SPOTLIGHT” is a continuing series about tenant activities at Fort McCoy and their missions.)

What is it?
C Company 3rd, 399th, a logistics support company, augments the operations of The Army School System (TASS) Training Center at Fort Knox, Ky., by providing Soldiers to assist in motor pool operations and other vehicle maintenance functions.
The 399th falls under the 800th Logistics Support Brigade of the 80th Training Command.
C Company 3rd, 399th has had a presence at Fort McCoy for more than 10 years.

What have they done?
C Company Soldiers have traveled to Fort Knox year-round to fulfill their annual training requirement. In addition to supporting maintenance personnel at the TASS Training Center, unit personnel attend monthly drill training at Fort McCoy to complete mandatory Army and Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) training.

What do they have planned?
C Company 3rd, 399th will continue to provide maintenance support to the TASS Training Center while maintaining unit readiness.

Why are they important?
Soldiers of the 3rd, 399th are important assets to the TASS Training Center and the Army, as a whole, because they help keep the vehicles needed for training operational. Without functioning equipment, students could not conduct their training and become MOS qualified. The TASS Training Center does not have sufficient numbers of full-time personnel to conduct maintenance work. By providing Soldiers year-round, the 3rd, 399th helps the training center complete its mission.
