|The annual Fort McCoy Garrison Commander’s
Briefing to the Work Force will be presented Thursday, Jan. 20 at 9 a.m. and
1 p.m. at building 60.
The briefing is open to garrison federal military and civilian employees.
The briefing will last approximately 90 minutes.
Transportation will be available through the installation Transportation Motor Pool. Buses will begin pickup approximately 30 minutes before each session.

performers and technicians. The deadline for nominations is Tuesday,

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program appointments in the Fort
McCoy community can be requested starting Wednesday, Jan. 19, with the
actual appointments scheduled Feb. 1-April 14.

|Valentine’s Day Card Stamping workshops will be
held Jan. 22 and 29 from 9 – 11:30 a.m. in building 1130.
All materials and supplies needed for Families to make personalized Valentine’s Day cards will be provided.
The workshops are open to Families registered in the Family Focus Program. Each Family attending must include a minimum of one adult and one child.

|A Resilience and the “Good Stuff” workshop will
be held Feb. 1-2 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. both days at Army Community Service
(ACS), building 2111.
The workshop will cover how to counter negativity bias, create positive emotion, and notice and analyze what is good.
Skills will be taught to enhance effectiveness and well-being by building mental toughness. Resilience and the competencies that contribute to it — self-awareness, self-regulation, optimism, mental agility, strengths of character, and connection — also will be covered.
Military spouses will have priority placement. Family Focus Program participants may receive Family Focus Franks.

|Pine View Campground reservations being accepted [ back to top ]|
Fort McCoy’s Pine View Campground is taking reservations for the 2011
camping season. Pine View is open to the public.
Military specials include a 29-foot onsite camper rental for seven consecutive days for $250. Other specials include reserve a campsite Friday and Saturday night and get Sunday night free, excluding holidays; and get a fifth night free with a consecutive four-night campsite reservation.

|ACS to offer Family time-capsule kits during February [ back to top ]|
Family time-capsule kits will be available throughout February at Army
Community Service (ACS), building 2111. Families must be registered in
the Family Focus program to receive a kit.
The kits have instructions on everything needed to create one-of-a-kind memories.
Time capsules must be shown to ACS by March 19 to receive 200 Family Focus Franks.

Latter-day Saints sacramental services now are being held Sundays at 8
a.m. at Fort McCoy in the Fellowship Hall, building 2675.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Sparta will host the services.
