Members of the Fort McCoy Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers program arranged for Santa to visit youth in the installation Child, Youth & School Services program. Santa was accompanied by two reindeer and an elf. Activities included visiting each room and reading to the older youth. Santa also left a candy goodie bag for all the children to take home.

Members of the Fort McCoy Religious Support Office and Fort McCoy Main Post Exchange (PX) pose with gifts donated to children in the installation community. In addition to the 23 gifts given to children, the Garrison Chaplain Holiday Giving Program also assisted selected families with Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. For Thanks-giving, three Army Families were helped with food from the Commissary and four Department of Defense (DoD) civilians were helped with food for a total of $1,381.19. For Christmas, four Army Families were helped with food from the Commissary and six DoD civilians were assisted for a total of $1,740.

Because the event was close to the holiday season, some of the cadre dressed in holiday costumes. The 3.5-mile run served as a fun and motivational event for students and staff members.
